Orthodox Christmas Mass in Russia’s major Cathedral 2012

From the night of the 6th to the 7th of January millions of Orthodox Christians celebrate Christmas in Russia. The main service is traditionally held in Moscow’s Christ the Saviour Cathedral and will be held by His Holiness, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill personally. The mass starts at 11pm, lasting for several hours, and will be shown live on the state television «Channel 1» and «Rossiya» as well as the church channel «Spas».

The solemn Divine service is sung by the Cathedral Choir — the Moscow Patriarchal Choir of Christ the Saviour Cathedral — under the direction of Dr. Ilya Tolkachev.
